How does a neural network learn to see and how can we shape the perception of artificial intelligence. In an experimental manner this project examines the perception and recreation of light phenomena by artificial intelligence in three consecutive experiments.
Artificial Light has been exhibited at Ars Electronica 2019 in Linz (Austria) and Forking Room 2019 in Seoul (South Korea). Part of the exhibition was a live webcam installation, which made different pre-trained GANs reinterpret the moving images of spectators. The other part of the installation was a GAN trained with images of religious figures and symbols interpreting the instagram feed of the hashtag #selfie.
